DIFFERENTIATION THROUGH TIERING IN WORLD LANGUAGES

What is Tiering?

Differentiating instruction involves structuring a lesson at multiple levels so that each student has an opportunity to work at a moderately challenging, developmentally appropriate level. Tiering is one form of differentiation.

A tiered lesson addresses a particular standard, key concept, and generalization, but allows several pathways for students to arrive at an understanding of these components.
